What's new in ThinkDesign 2025
The latest release of ThinkDesign includes several improvements.
Find below a brief descriptions for the main new features and enhancements.
Smart Assembly Management
Optimized workflow for managing components
The "Insert Component" command now automatically retains links to external entities, while the "Insert Component as X-Ref" and "Make X-Reference" commands offer greater flexibility by allowing unlinking of references to external entities. This functionality extends to previously unsupported entities, while other improvements include fixes for dangling references in component creation and new capabilities to detect and repair inconsistent models from previous versions.
Advanced Fillet Capabilities
Improvements to the Edge Fillet command
ThinkDesign 2025 introduces major upgrades to the "Edge Fillet" command, enhancing the design process with smarter collision detection and more precise handling between fillets and contact edges. A new collision propagation algorithm ensures seamless, continuous fillets across complex geometries, while automatic adjustment capabilities minimize manual intervention.
Hybrid Solids
Mesh support taken to the next level
ThinkDesign 2025 introduces the concept of Hybrid Solids and now supports homogeneous Hybrid Solids, where all faces are triangular meshes. You can use core modeling functions (Make Solid, Break Solid, etc.) and Boolean operations with Hybrid Solids.
Also, the "Mesh from Solid" command has been enhanced with two new modes: the "Local" mode, which allows you to convert only specific faces of a solid into a mesh, and the "Global" mode, which introduces a new "Join Mesh" option that enables the creation of either a single mesh for the entire solid or individual meshes for each solid face.
